#51. You’ve Discovered That You Truly Love Yourself

combating midlife negativity

There was a time, long ago, when you didn’t really like yourself that much. It’s not that you hated yourself . . . you just weren’t too pro-you. You had flaws, you had imperfections, you didn’t believe you were ‘worthy.’

Those days are over.

As you came into your own in midlife, you realized that you’re a phenomenal woman. You have worth, you have value, you have something wonderful to offer this world. No, you may not be perfect, but perfection is such an elusive trait, one that is difficult to achieve. So what do you do?

You love yourself. You don’t love yourself when; you don’t love your self if; you love yourself BECAUSE…

You love yourself because you are loveable.
You love yourself because you have overcome many obstacles throughout your life.
You love yourself because you’re the only you that you’ve got.
You love yourself because you are a warrioress.
You love yourself because you’re authentic.
You love yourself because you respect the woman you have become.
You love yourself because you deserve to be happy.
You love yourself because there’s no one else in the world you’d rather be.
You love yourself because of your strength and resilience.
You love yourself because of the way you view the world.
You love yourself because of your passion.
You love yourself because you can forgive.
You love yourself because you accept the woman that you are.
You love yourself because you flourish in your uniqueness.
You love yourself because it feels so good.
You love yourself because you’re brave.
You love yourself because you deserve to be loved.

What’s missing? What are some other reasons why you love yourself?

You’re welcome, Shari. I know there’s many more reasons to love ourselves. Every reason is personal to each woman!

A great reminder that if we don’t love ourselves, how can we expect others to love us? You hit it on the head with ‘I love myself BECAUSE’. Midlife and beyond is such a wonderful time and we are really coming into our own. Have a great day, I’ve shared on social media. Visiting from The Women of Midlife

Thanks Sue. I thought about the reasons we give for loving someone or something — the “why”. I think saying “BECAUSE” gives us a lead-in to that why. Glad you enjoyed the post! You have a great day as well.
