What Would You Do if I Said “I Dare You…”?

I dare you.

It’s the ultimate taunt — a challenge designed to elicit a response out of you. It’s a call to action, usually something inane, yet it piques your interest and, perhaps, your wild side. Are you big enough? Bad enough? Brave enough?

“I dare you to kiss him.” Do you kiss him?

“You won’t jump; you’re too chicken. Go ahead, I dare you to jump!” Do you take the bait? Do that which is out of your comfort zone?

“You can’t let your boss talk to you like that. He’s a bully. You need to speak up to him. Speak your mind; I dare you.” Do you remain silent and keep your job, or do you stand up to your boss?

What would you do if I said to you, “I dare you…”?

Would you be dismissive, shooing me off with a flick of your perfectly manicured hand? Would you become combative, locking horns with me every step of the way? Would you contemplate the ramifications of the dare, convincing yourself that whatever it was, you couldn’t rise to the challenge? Would you turn your back and walk away? Would you resist with every fiber of your being? Would you be overcome with emotion? Would the uncertainty be too much for you to bear? Or would you accept the challenge, knowing that it could lead to positive change in your life?

Let’s put that to the test, shall we? It’s time to be a disruptor. M’kay, I dare you . . .

I dare you to create your own path

. . . to be perfect in your imperfections.
. . . to stop comparing yourself to others.
. . . to turn your ideas into actions.
. . . to be resilient.
. . . to create your own path.
. . . to silence your inner critic.
. . . to take command of your health.
. . . to not settle for less.
. . . to kick ass and take names.
. . . to go deeper.
. . . to take back your power.
. . . to find your voice and use it.
. . . to stop playing the victim.
. . . to walk in confidence.
. . . to know yourself.
. . . to stop making excuses.
. . . to take that leap.
. . . to be the woman who says, “I did it my way.”
. . . to be the heroine.
. . . to be happy.
. . . to nurture a relationship with yourself.
. . . to give a damn.
. . . to turn your negatives into positives.
. . . to expect more.
. . . to be unbreakable.
. . . to stop the self-sabotage.
. . . to focus on you.

I dare you to speak your truth

. . . to speak your truth.
. . . to be kind to yourself, today and always.
. . . to encourage someone else today.
. . . to be spontaneous.
. . . to spread your wings and soar like never before.
. . . to stop comparing yourself to others.
. . . to make now your defining moment.
. . . to believe in yourself.
. . . to be great today and even better tomorrow.
. . . to be the architect of your life.
. . . to forgive yourself.
. . . to let your dreams eclipse your fears.
. . . to be different.
. . . to bask in your brilliance.
. . . to accept yourself.
. . . to be bodacious.
. . . to embrace the body you have – curves, bumps, dimples and all.
. . . to demand respect.
. . . to celebrate your individuality.
. . . to create your own path.
. . . to love yourself.
. . . to be the woman you want to be.

Go ahead, I dare you.
