#54. Living Without Regrets

combating midlife negativity

You have many regrets. Maybe you regret not getting married (or getting married). Perhaps you chastise yourself for choosing not to go to college years ago or not having gone farther with your education. Or maybe you never forgave yourself for that nasty profanity-laden argument you had with your former best friend to whom you never apologized.

Life is full of regrets. Many people allow those regrets to rule their life.

Not you.

Why? Because you’ve faced your issues, made peace with them, and let them go.

You’ve had your struggles . . . just like every other person walking this earth. Yes, you may have made bad decisions in the past, but trudging through the after effects of those decisions was a part of your learning process and you became stronger for it. You may not be happy with your past decisions, but you respect them, knowing that every decision that you’ve ever made in life has led you this point . . . to the woman you are today.

So now, you don’t do it. You don’t let regret be your guide. But now you have a bit of knowledge in your arsenal: banishing your regret helps you live comfortably in the present and not remain cemented in the past.

Now, you’re living your life without regrets.
