Midlife—whether you’re in your 40s, 50s or 60s—it’s a wonderful time to be a woman. No longer do we have to beat ourselves up (or down) and feel as if life as we know it is over. With age comes wisdom, and many midlife women could teach a thing or two to the younger generation. Midlife women are knocking down the old stereotypes and showing the world we’re more than just a ‘woman of a certain age.’ We are midlife.

When it comes to midlife women, one size doesn’t fit all. Some women go through the fire and stay there. Others drag themselves up from the embers and push forward in life. On this episode of “This is What Midlife Looks Like,” I’m chatting with Jae Hermann. Like  many of us, she’s been through some stuff in her lifetime, however, that didn’t define the woman she has become.

Jae is a marketing consultant and storyteller. She’s on a mission to rewrite the midlife narrative with badassery and real talk motivation. She lives with her husband and fur-babies in the Pacific Northwest.

On The Show . . .

Jae and I have a wonderful chat about:
  • Reinvention: it doesn’t mean you have to totally change yourself.
  • Overcoming challenges in midlife.
  • Surviving breast implant illness.
  • Jae’s midlife narrative and living her purpose.
  • GAWWLOP.
  • Being spoon fed the expectations of society.
  • Showing the authentic, raw side of our lives.
  • Not allowing her illness to define the woman she has become, and choosing not to be a victim.
  • The absence of work-life balance.
  • Jae’s advice to midlife women struggling to find their identity or being real and authentic.
